WE BUY COFFEE FROM
PRODUCERS ALL
ACROSS COLOMBIA.

AT AZAHAR

We search for Colombia’s best coffees by combining a bit of science with the senses.

We listen to what the producers we work with have to say, spending as much time on the road as we do in the lab. We recognize and value their experience. We also aren’t afraid to step in and help when we see room for improvement.

In exchange for their dedication to producing truly great coffee, we pay higher, stable prices, because regardless of what the market says, good coffee farming should be profitable. In the process, we establish enduring relationships.

Traditionally, Colombia has always exported its best coffee. Contributing to that tradition, we source ours from farmers all across the country and ship it around the world. But with a roastery in Quindío and a couple cafés in Bogotá, we do our best to serve as much of it here as we can. Because Colombia deserves to drink its best coffee, too.

TO BUSINESSES : GREAT COFFEE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN ENJOY IN YOUR OFFICE WITHOUT HAVING TO BE AN EXPERT (OR A MILLIONAIRE).

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US…

“Single-origin coffees from Azahar are served with energy and enthusiasm by the baristas at the modern flagship café: A shipping container… ‘meant to serve as a sign that Colombians deserve to drink the best coffee their country produces.’”

“Azahar es un buen ejemplo para quienes tienen intenciones de abrir cafés, para quienes entienden que un café es uno de los lugares de reunión más maravillosos y más visitados en ciudades como París, Buenos Aires y Madrid. Bogotá necesita más lugares como este, que exalten nuestra cultura cafetera.”

“The Azahar Coffee container is a renovated, modest-looking repurposed shipping container, with a marvelous coffee selection and choice of brew methods inside…There’s also some symbolism here: containers are how Colombian coffee is shipped to the rest of the world.”

“There is no need for cream or soy milk. You experience the coffee for its uniqueness, not just in taste, but in its origin, its history, all the care that has gone into it to that point where you take your long awaited and delicious first sip.”

“Each lot is exposed to a rigorous and comprehensive cupping analysis performed by dedicated coffee experts on the road and at Azahar’s cupping lab and roasting works… Azahar’s team uses above standard benchmarks, which many of its coffees exceed, placing Azahar among the best coffees in the world.”

“They say a shoemaker’s son always goes barefoot. This could apply to Colombia’s coffeehouse culture, since it remains somewhat sparse. However, in the last few years, new coffee houses — like Azahar — have emerged around the country.”
